A snow flake, a hope flake,

so beautifully white and brittle —

from where do you come, please reminisce,

for I am in awe of your legendary riddle.

 

Wise men say you are born as a tear

dampened by a hollow heart from afar,

but then peace and tranquility

are added to make you white —

to sparkle and glitter like a star.

 

Your journey is long,

with your destination unknown and weary,

but because of your sacrifice

the day seems right which otherwise

may have been a bit dreary.

 

You are indeed a falling wonder,

giving so much more than you take —

it is no surprise

that you have been described

as an inspirer — a hope flake.
