Please don’t make rhymes

have a reason with tones of

despair; the time has come.

I need to be alone, and it’s

not that I don’t care.

 

Just a short time to reevaluate,

to collect thoughts of yesterday

a glass of wine and alone in some

quiet and unknown hideaway.

 

An important time that can’t be replaced

by a material thing or a pseudo thrill,

a time when I come in touch

with me — a better person will

transcend because what we are

is what we reveal.

 

My heart and soul have been renewed

with new awareness, and

I thank you for understanding

such an unusual request and in return

I will give you all, but more importantly,

I will give you my best.
