Mirrors of the Heart

Through life we rely
on spoken words
to satisfy demands,
to debate and to learn,
sometimes not realizing
that the eyes often speak
louder than words —
a fire within when sparked
makes desires of heaven and earth
begin to burn.

The eyes are the mirrors
of the heart,
beckoning understanding —
offering an invitation
to explore deep within,
to touch the soul,
to know the whole
and not just a part —
to trace the spirit
from its origin.

When two understand
that in silence,
the magnets of the eyes
bring all things together
in common affirmation —
words taught by man
are no longer needed,
only time and space
to feel rhythms
and the sensitivity
to understand
the unspoken vibration.
