Whisper in my ear

ever so softly how you truly feel —

I really yearn to know,

for nothing is as important as that which is real.

 

Please do not assume that your words

are words I already know,

for if it were true, my reason to exist

would be as weak as the winds that fail to blow.

 

Be assured that as the heart hears whispers,

it can do little else except respond —

and in return, I will tell you how I feel,

and together our whispers will confirm a true and loving bond.
